Advocare Product Reviews

Hi everyone, so today I received Rehydrate mix (in Mango-Pineapple) and convinced myself that I should go on a run, so that I could use the mix as a post-work out. Is that silly? To go on a run just to try Rehydrate?
Let me tell you, I am not a runner. I am trying to be a runner because my mom wants me to run a mini marathon (13.1 miles) with her in May, that only gives me six months, SIX MONTHS! to be able to run that distance. So right now I am building up by running a little farther each run. I had been doing a mile run/walk the last couple of times, my goal today had been 1.5 miles, but around the 1.25 mile marker the was setting and it was a chilly 37 degrees, so I decided to call that progress and head home to try rehydrate.

The hubby decided to snap a photo for the blog to commemorate the chilly run.

Ignore the cheesy smile, it was in an effort to stay warm.

Now on to the review for Rehydrate. I made a promise to give the honest truth on how Advocare products work for me and my opinion of them.

Rehydrate comes in two flavors Fruit Punch and Mango-Pineapple, the advice I had received in regards to what flavors to pick was this: Fruit Punch is good, but doesn't taste like the Spark Fruit punch and Mango-Pineapple was awesome, and tasted like pure pineapple greatest and not at all mango-ey. Now here is a secret, I don't like mango, in my transitioning to clean eating I have been expanding my food choices. Now I love pineapple, to a point where I have gotten many a canker sore from eating too much   pineapple. So Mango-Pineapple it was.

It was all lies! So I come home with my legs screaming so excited to try the pineapple greatness, only to discover that indeed it tasted like mango. I know that really is not all that tragic, and that most people enjoy the taste, it was just a disappointment for me looking forward to a pineapple post-work out treat.

Taste wise I would describe it as a mix of pineapple juice and ...well mango, mango what I couldn't say, but mango. Not at all bad. Consistency wise I would say it ranks between Spark and Fiber Drink (of the Herbal Cleanse), you knew that you weren't drinking water, but it wasn't as thick as the fiber drink. It is still clear and mixed really easily with the blender ball.

Now, how did it work you ask? Well prior to taking it, it was painful to walk. I am still using muscles that aren't fully conditioned and I do experience soreness ( I have found that Catalyst has greatly helped with my extreme soreness). I was trying to walk it off while I made dinner and waited for the Rehydrate to kick in. There was no ah ha moment, but while working on dinner and meal prep for the next few days, I realized I wasn't quite as wiped out and my legs weren't as tight. Now saying this after dinner when I got up after sitting for close to an hour, and legs were back to be sore, but I figure that is to be expected.

I think I might try mixing some Rehydrate up and freezing them in an ice cube tray to  be able to add it to spark and try different flavor combinations.

All in all a good product to incorporate into my routine.
